Description:

This is a new post and we are in search of a driven General Manager who is motivated by performance and making a difference in the provision of excellent services for our community.
As the Head of Operations, you will be instrumental in leading the Integrated Cancer Care group within our newly merged Division alongside the Care Group Clinical Director. You will be driving the Division’s mission to develop a Cancer Centre.
Your primary focus will be to ensure that the Trust Cancer Performance is met and that our patients receive the best possible and timely care at their moment of need.

The Head of Operations will be responsible for supporting the Division in directing, guiding, and leading the Care Group in the overall management of the specialty group(s), and for developing business strategic plans, performance management frameworks to ensure delivery of all key activity and financial targets. This is a key leadership role within the Division working closely with the Cancer General Manager, and wider operational and clinical Cancer Service Teams.
The postholder will lead the Trust’s desire to become a Cancer Centre, working closely with the Care Group Clinical Director for Cancer Care.
The Head of Operations will ensure an improving performance and sustainability of the Trust cancer pathways. This will include ensuring robust cancer tracking, data collection, reducing health inequalities and developing new approaches that improve the timeliness and efficacy of care.
The postholder will deliver proficient and consistent leadership in support of performance management with effective oversight of services, challenges and mitigations across cancer services. A key requirement will be to establish close working with the Divisional Management Teams, corporate support functions and staff side representatives. Working collegiately where necessary to lead, manage and ensure the delivery of high-quality care whilst maintaining focus on national operating plans. Effective working relationships with Macmillan and RM Partners will be essential.
