Head of Operations QLD
About the role
We’re seeking a Head of Operations QLD to lead a team of Traffic Control Room Operators and People Leaders that support the delivery of 24/7, safe, reliable and efficient operations of the network and a superior experience for our customers.
You’ll join an innovative team, who are at the centre of operational experience in matters such as road safety and incident and emergency management.
As our Head of Operations QLD, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • You’ll contribute to the development and implementation of the assets operations strategy with a focus on optimum performance and availability of the road network for our customers
  • You’ll ensure a 24/7 control room culture focused on employee and customer safety
  • You’ll drive operational service evolution to support market efficiency, integration and consolidation
  • You’ll ensure that the management systems and development programs support the work force and all training and development requirements are met

This role will suit someone with strong leadership experience and a range of transferable skills and capabilities, including:

  • Experience running a complex operational environment with significant reliability and safety risk, with a proven ability to improve and optimise operational performance
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills – ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated HSE, risk and compliance management experience
  • Systemic approach to resolving issues, with a desire to identify areas for improvement and take people and processes ‘to the next level’
