The Head of Payments Marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa is a key strategic position to drive forward the ambitious growth plan of J.P. Morgan Payments in-region. This role wears several leadership hats; managing a direct team of marketers, leading a functional matrixed team, as well as sitting on both the EMEA Payments Management Team (accountability to Head of EMEA Payments) and the Payments Marketing Extended Leadership Team (accountability to Payments Global CMO). This role is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the over-arching Marketing strategy for the region and ensuring it is aligned with business priorities, the product roadmap, and customer needs in EMEA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop Regional Marketing Strategy: Create and oversee the execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to the unique needs and characteristics of the EMEA market, aligned with overall business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor both a direct and a functional matrixed team of marketing professionals – providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the successful implementation of marketing programs and campaigns.
- Brand Management: Oversee brand positioning and messaging across all marketing channels, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand standards.
- Market Analysis: Partner with analytics & business management teams to conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive threats within the EMEA region, providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Campaign Management: Ensure campaigns and initiatives are equipped with the appropriate marketing mix and client-centric messaging to effectively reach target audiences and stimulate funnel expansion.
- Partnership Development: Collaborate with regional leadership, sales teams and channel partners to develop joint marketing programs and initiatives to support business growth and expansion within the region.
- Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs, tracking and analyzing results to optimize future efforts.
- Budget Management: Manage marketing budgets effectively, allocating resources to maximize ROI and achieve business objectives within budgetary constraints.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Marketing Experience: Extensive experience in marketing preferably in the Payments industry, technology or other B2B sectors.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing strategies that drive business growth and achieve objectives.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- EMEA Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the EMEA market landscape, including cultural, economic, and regulatory factors, with experience working across multiple countries and regions within EMEA.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize marketing performance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers across diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Results Orientation: Track record of driving measurable results and achieving marketing objectives, with a focus on ROI and performance metrics.
- Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships and effectively manage stakeholders in a matrixed environment to drive collaboration, alignment, and successful project outcomes.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree or any additional qualifications or certifications is considered a plus.
