This role is accountable for setting and implementing the Payments strategy for Business & Commercial Banking (BCB). This includes developing and managing the product set within a dynamic UK Payments regulatory agenda and a fiercely competitive and highly innovative marketplace.
CM&P provides a diverse range of Payments and Liquidity products and services to customers of BCB. The customers in these market segments are demanding and expect a significant level of expertise from the business.
The Payments Product team runs a product portfolio spanning physical and electronic payments, both domestically and internationally and is the product manufacturer for CIB as well as BCB customers. The team ensures our products meet customers’ needs, and they are the subject matter expert for customers, Coverage, Sales and many other key partners.
Key Accountabilities:

- Help drive accelerated income growth from payments through our distribution channels and cultivate growth from existing customers via our product offering.
- Develop propositions to meet customers’ needs via digital and branch channels ensuring these continue to evolve as customers’ needs develop.
- Drive improvement in the overall Customer Experience through the development of digital onboarding and servicing. Demonstrate great customer journeys by high NPS and lower complaints volumes.
- Ensure successful delivery of transformation, building an effective environment with colleagues from other business units and the Platform teams.
- Represent BCB in major Group Payments Change Programmes ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained and unlocking commercialisation opportunities from these market changes
- Develop positive relationships with suppliers.
- Represent the Bank on UK and International industry payment forums to build our profile, utilise commercial opportunities and identify/handle any external risks. Act as an advocate for and promote the Bank’s products internally and externally – working with marketing and including writing of articles in industry publications and presenting and conferences.
- Build and maintain continuous feedback loops and training to ensure that market & competitor trends and customer requirements are fully understood and that LBG are fully equipped to meet those requirements.
- Responsibility for upholding the LBG values, leading and building a strong culture of innovation within the team.
- Drive diversity and inclusion agenda and strong talent and performance management approach.
