JOB TITLE: Head of Portfolio Management
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh office.
About this Opportunity
We’re seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our Insurance, Pensions &Investments (IP&I) team as our Head of Portfolio Management. You’ll be responsible for leading on the performance of our agile investment portfolio and will work with Business Unit leaders to review portfolio progress, address challenges, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for the Agile investment portfolio at a business-wide level, ensuring alignment our Insurance, Pensions and Investments strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key individuals to prioritise portfolio initiatives, balancing strategic imperatives with resource constraints.
  • Monitor and optimise the financial performance of the portfolio at a business level, overseeing budget allocation, forecasting, and cost-control measures.
  • Implement strategies to improve return on investment (ROI) and minimise financial risks across the entire portfolio.
  • Identify and mitigate cross-portfolio risks and dependencies that may impact business-wide project timelines and outcomes.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for portfolio initiatives, emphasizing consistency, reliability, and customer satisfaction across the business portfolio.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and performance metrics to monitor and improve the overall quality of deliverables at a business unit level.
  • Communicate portfolio performance, risks, and strategic insights effectively to stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitate and lead Business Unit level Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), providing insights and analysis on portfolio performance, strategic alignment, and key initiatives.

  • Drive data-driven decision-making skills with experience completing comprehensive analysis and presentation of portfolio metrics, financial performance, and strategic objectives.
