POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Head of Positioning for Sanlam Investments: Retail, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our market positioning strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring that our product / services are effectively positioned to meet customer needs and maximize competitive advantage in the marketplace. Primary investment propositions that the role will cover is Sanlam Investment Management, Satrix, and Amplify Investment Partners.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Degree or Diploma with 6 to 8 years related experience.

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Market Analysis and Research: conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify key trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape. Use insights to inform positioning strategies.
  • Positioning Strategy Development: develop comprehensive positioning strategies that differentiate Sanlam Investments: Retail in the marketplace. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align positioning with overall business goals.
  • Brand Positioning: define and articulate our brand positioning in a clear and compelling manner. Ensure consistency in messaging across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Product Positioning: work closely with product management teams to ensure that our products / services are positioned effectively to target customers. Develop value propositions and messaging frameworks.
  • Competitive Analysis: monitor and analyse competitor positioning strategies. Identify opportunities and threats, and make recommendations to maintain our competitive edge.
  • Marketing Collateral: oversee the development of marketing collateral, including website content, sales presentations, and promotional materials, to support our positioning strategy.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: partner with sales, marketing, product development, and senior leadership teams to execute positioning and marketing strategies effectively. Foster a collaborative environment to drive alignment and achievement of business objectives.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?

  • 6 – 8 years’ of experience in a strategic marketing or product management role, with a proven track record in positioning strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the multi-manager and distribution dynamics.
  • A multi manager background will be advantageous
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable positioning strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and strategies clearly and persuasively.
  • Post graduate degree in Investment Management or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
