HEAD OF PRODUCT POSITION AVAILABLE IN CAPE TOWN.

A renowned international messaging company is looking for a “Head of Product” to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in either Cape Town or Bryanston, Johannesburg.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Head of Product to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership, technical, design, and administrative skills.
This role requires a strategic and commercial thinking individual who will be responsible for creating/enhancing the App’s digital product which is Chat & Discover, performing technical configurations, generating reports, and liaising with multiple internal stakeholders which are Developers, along with head of Technology, head of Sales, head of Delivery and MD to deliver on the digital product of the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering or related fields (desirable but not mandatory)
  • 10+ years’ experience in the related field of which 5 years of commercial acumen
  • 3+ experience in marketing, advertising, or a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Proven track record of strong communication skills, stakeholder management, presentation skills and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing product related digital tech solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel – Pivots, Vlookup, SumIf, etc
  • PowerBI, Grafana knowledge advantages (can be taught)
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Sheets
  • Strong logic, numeracy and analytical skills
  • Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and the ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Look after the design and performance of the App Chat & Discover UIs and UXs.
  • Lead a team of experts who feed directly into the look, feel and performance of the Chat &
  • Discover aspects of the App.
  • Support customers on the App platform with app provisioning, app updates & forced upgrades, and API integrations alongside Delivery team and Developers where applicable.
  • Collaborate with the Technical, Ad Delivery, and Sales teams to drive business success in adynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Play a crucial role in onboarding and supporting new content providers/partners, ensuring a seamless integration experience.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of our core products and their application to customer needs, particularly in reverse-billing App web applications and advertising campaigns.
  • Analyze and understand customer requirements, providing technical expertise and support from start to finish.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop deep product understanding and apply that in customer engagements in order to identify technical solutions for potential customers
  • Work closely with the sales team in pre-sales and post-sales with the common goal of ensuring customer success
  • Deliver timely, accurate and professional product support to all internal and external customers
  • Build strong relationships with new and existing customers with the primary goal of growing revenue
  • Unpack and understand complex or ambiguous internal and external requests
  • Review customer feedback, investigate possible product issues, identify opportunities, and contribute to the product roadmap
  • Create product road map and implement process from end to end with senior management buy in and prioritize based on a commercial mindset.
  • Find process gaps, collect data, propose solutions, and work with engineers and the service delivery & technical teams to continually improve services.

  • Contribute to a positive team environment and proactively help team members to meet and exceed team goals and metrics
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance ad serving operations, optimising efficiency and revenue with Managing Director’s buy in based on company strategy.
  • Help business manage unrecovered data costs while aiding to clean up audience to a higher quality audience.
  • Draft a data enrichment strategy and implement to help sales grow revenues and premiumisation of ad inventory.
  • Lead and grow a team in accordance to best practice leadership standards and great communication skills to build a high-performance team that is supported.
