At Volvo Autonomous Solutions, we develop autonomous transport solutions for three segments – quarries & mining, ports & logistic centers, and Hub 2 Hub on highway transportation.
The product organization of V.A.S. acts in close collaboration with our technology organization and our commercial organization. The technology organization is responsible for the development of our own virtual driver system, dedicated to the Quarry & Mining segment. The commercial organization of V.A.S. is responsible for the customer interface, and the operational execution of the autonomous transport system. The product organization for Q&M then is responsible to create the autonomous transport system for the segment, integrating our own virtual driver with our vehicles and machines, including system verification and validation (incl. homologation).
Autonomous transport systems usually require certain infrastructure, which forms part of the responsibility for the product organization. The product organization is also responsible to support the operations of installed autonomous solutions, in tight connection with the commercial teams. The Product organization is also monitoring market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and product differentiation.
From the Head of Product Quarry and Mining for Volvo Autonomous Solutions we expect respective product ownership and the ability to define the fit for purpose autonomous transport system per segment. The Head of Product works closely with our V.A.S. technology and commercial organizations. As we source our vehicles and machines from within the Volvo Group, a close collaboration with other Volvo Group functions is essential.
In this role you will develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the Q&M segment, aligning with overall company objectives. This includes the definition of clear product roadmaps and prioritization of features, enhancements, and customizations based on market research, customer feedback, and competitive analysis. You will lead and coach a team of Project- and Product Managers, ensuring that we are aligned with the segment’s goals and objectives.
We do consider this role as a critical and senior management position, reporting to the Chief Product Officer for Volvo Autonomous Solutions.
Location is Gothenburg, Sweden.
