Data and Technology Services is tasked with delivering the technology aspects of LSE Strategy 2030, focusing on deliver across three pillars of Educate for Global Impact, LSE for Everyone and Research for the World. To achieve this, DTS is implementing our technology strategy which will build a Strong Operational Core, which includes d Platforms, Infrastructure, Data, Processes, and Excellent Customer Services.
The Head of Project Delivery is responsible for ensuring high quality technical project and programme management within DTS to support our strategic delivery.

The role includes:

  • Line management of a team of Technical Project and Programme Managers and Technical Business Analysts.
  • Owning the standards for technical project delivery across the LSE by establishing guidelines, ensuring uniform application, and driving continuous improvement to maintain excellence across all projects.
  • Enhancing project delivery maturity by adopting structured methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize processes and outcomes.
  • Ensuring projects successfully transition products to the operational environment with all the supporting processes, resources, and artefacts in place.
  • Taking up the role of Quality Assurance on Projects and Programmes as appropriate.

Candidates should have:

  • Extensive experience in portfolio and project management within medium to large heterogeneous organizations.
  • Proven success in advancing the adoption of Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum, as a delivery framework.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing a consistent approach to Service Transition, leading to successful outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the unique aspects of Technical Project Management, with experience in establishing and managing governance controls to ensure project success.

LSE is a campus-based university and staff are expected to attend the London campus in fulfilling their role. Most staff balance working from the campus or remotely. For this particular role, the duties are such that we can offer flexible working patterns. We therefore encourage applications from applicants who can periodically travel to the London campus.
