Your responsibilities and tasks:

We are seeking an experienced and agile Head of Projects to support our sales and service colleagues during the sales phase and manage customer projects throughout their entire lifecycle within the Separation & Flow Technologies (SFT) division in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an internal team and ensuring that our customers are happy throughout the entire project lifecycle by proactively raising and dealing with any challenges that might occur.

  • Project Management: Creating accurate project plans including time and materials using project management software (MS Projects).
  • Project Controlling: Project Budget and resource control ensuring allocated project hours are adhered to and change orders raised and executed as required.
  • Technical Support: Supporting sales colleagues with technical support during the sales phase and advising to ensure scope of supply is realistic and achievable. Technical Appraisal of new projects and documentation as well as scoping and quoting of in-service upgrade projects
  • Lifecycle Management: Management of full project lifecycle and key customer contact for all projects, acting as the point of escalation for issues flagged by members of the project team and their swift resolution.
  • Project Commissioning: Preparation of the commissioning plan and management of the commissioning process, including ensuring final sign off and handover to service colleagues upon completion. Correct resourcing of the installation and commissioning phases in accordance with site activities.
  • Collaboration: Preparation and completion of project documentation to fulfil the contract requirements outlined in the sales phase, smooth running of the project and final handover to the client and the GEA Service organisation.
  • Health and Safety Management of the project ensuring third party sites are always safe for GEA personal. Responsible for auditing direct reports onsite to ensure compliance with GEA safe systems of work.
  • Team Lead: Creation and management of development plans for direct reports ensuring team grows in line with wider company goals and strategic objectives.

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Formal project management training preferred (Prince 2, APM PMP or similar)
  • Formal health and safety training preferred (IOSH or similar)
  • Experience in leading multi-discipline engineering projects
  • Experience of managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience of leading technical projects from the design phase to conclusion
  • First experience in leading a team preferred
  • Strong Organisational skills
  • Communication skills at all levels including comfortably delivering presentations to stakeholders
  • Good working knowledge of MS applications and business enterprise systems
