QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • 5+ years’ experience in retail leasing in a senior capacity in QSR or retail businesses
  • Record of commercial excellence in site acquisition and lease renewals
  • Proven, demonstrable experience in working in a fast-paced environment and a relentless approach to finding suitable sites
  • Experience in Franchising is highly desired

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you an experienced property professional ready for a leadership role that drives significant growth?
We’re seeking a Head of Property who is eager to step into a pivotal position, taking charge of identifying and securing prime restaurant locations to fuel our expansion.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in retail or QSR leasing who is looking to lead a team and make a major impact on our growth trajectory. Utilising tools like Geotech and Gap Maps, you will conduct thorough market research and site analysis to find high-potential sites, you will develop innovative site selection strategies and relentlessly pursue prime locations, ensuring our expansion aligns with our strategic vision.
You will evaluate potential sites firsthand, manage third-party site selection agencies, and build strong relationships with landlords to secure A-grade locations. Leading property meetings and preparing for board approvals, you will ensure our expansion plans are executed effectively.
In this role, you will manage the National Leasing Manager and team, overseeing existing leases and proactive reporting on lease status. You will excel in lease negotiations and foster a culture of continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement, ensuring we meet our ambitious growth targets.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Develop a pipeline of new site opportunities for growth
  • Conduct market research and site analysis
  • Collaborate on site selection strategies and work with landlords
  • Maintain a ‘Property Hit List’ and evaluate potential locations
  • Manage site selection agencies and lead internal assessments
  • Build relationships with landlords and prepare for reviews
  • Lead the National Leasing Manager and team to manage existing leases and address concerns
  • Ensure systems are in place to report on current and future leases
  • Negotiate and renew leases 9-12 months before expiry with terms favouring Mad Mex
  • Prepare REP and other documents for renewals and share with the GM Property & Development for Board approval
