Description:

“Since my first day in this role, it has been a dream job. As a recruitment enthusiast, to be able to spend all my time figuring out how to best teach and perform the optimal recruitment process has been nothing but an amazing opportunity. This while learning from fantastic colleagues, industry experts and tech gurus to make sure Academic Work is not only keeping up with the latest trends, but we are also leading the way. If you want to take the Staffing and Recruitment industry into the age of AI and ML, this is the position for you.” - Tim Knutsson, current Head of Recruitment
About the role
At Academic Work, we have high ambitions. We want to be the best at what we do, reaching new heights together with our colleagues while having fun along the way. With a clear goal of expanding our business in the coming years, the need for recruitment expertise, the core of our business, has never been more critical. With several key technological advancements underway, we are entering an exciting phase of growth and development toward operational excellence.
As our current Head of Recruitment is stepping into the role of Chief Operations Officer, we are now looking for a new Head of Recruitment to be our expert in recruitment and continue driving the change that will help us reach our ambitious goals.

Responsibilities:

As Head of Recruitment, you will ensure the optimization of our recruitment process and the development of best practices across the Operations organization. Your responsibilities include:

  • Driving Recruitment Excellence: Define, implement, and continuously refine best practices for recruitment by understanding industry standards and innovations, both within and outside our sector.
  • Enhancing Candidate Quality: Oversee how Academic Work attracts, assesses, and hires top talent, ensuring we remain ahead of the curve and aligned with our strategic goals.
  • Collaborating for Success: In this role, collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Group & local Operation Specialists, Sales, People & Performance, and IT to ensure recruitment systems, methods and processes are aligned with our business needs and ensuring we are in the leading position in our industry.
  • Tracking and Improving KPIs: You will monitor and analyze both qualitative and quantitative KPIs related to recruitment, providing targeted support to close gaps and enhance performance across different markets.
  • Leading Strategic Initiatives: Take strategic responsibility for long-term success, driving changes that align with our vision of being a market innovator.

Work tasks

  • Design and maintain an ideal recruitment process for Academic Work spanning over six countries.
  • Lead continuous best practice development for our core business recruitment.
  • Support and challenge system-related developments to align with recruitment needs.
  • Lead and participate in key development projects, both within and beyond your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure local markets are equipped with the training and resources needed to implement best practices.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for relevant suppliers, coordinating cross-country collaborations.
  • Develop, improve and track talent intelligence metrics to make sure our recruitment process is as efficient and data-driven as it can be.

We are looking for

  • Advanced practical recruitment experience, including the successful adaptation and development of recruitment processes.
  • A proven track record in process development, ideally with experience leading multiple successful projects in this area. For example, leading the implementation of an ATS or similar projects.
  • A passion for recruitment as a method, with an understanding of psychometrics, AI, and automation in the recruitment process. A desire to innovate and lead the change toward operational excellence in this area.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

To be successful in the role of Head of Recruitment, we believe you are:

  • A future-oriented and curious change agent with a strong ability for big-picture, long-term thinking who loves to explore new opportunities and ideas.
  • Goal-oriented and persistent, with a high energy level and “can-do-spirit”.
  • Able to develop and manage complex processes, handle a large amount of information and collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

The first step in the recruitment process is to complete two tests by Alva Labs. One is a personality mapping which takes 15-20 minutes to complete, the other a cognitive ability test which takes 10-15 minutes to complete. The reason we use tests as part of our recruitment process, is to ensure a solid and fair recruitment process focusing on potential for the position we are hiring for rather than only your CV. If you proceed, the next step is a phone interview followed by a behavioral descriptive interview with Lisette Lind, Group Talent Acquisition Manager. The final step is an interview with Tim Knutsson, soon-to-be Chief Operations Officer and Madeleine Palmér, current Chief Operations Officer. For our final candidates, the recruitment process will also include a case to be presented at a later stage.
