HT&S is specialized in meeting the needs of customers and suppliers around the world through a unique portfolio of products and services provided from offices in Zurich, Singapore and Miami.
HT&S is a leading international trader and seaborne logistics operator who delivers, through a team of dedicated specialists, solutions for the seaborne import and export of raw materials and finished goods both to Holcim Group companies as well as to third party businesses.
SUMMARY OF THE JOB
The Head of Region is responsible for defining and executing the regional strategy for APAC, aligned with the Holcim Trading & Shipping global strategy. They develop the business plan for their region and ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs):
- As a member of the Management Team, ensure company culture, code of conduct, and compliance are upheld and continuously improved within their team, while contributing to overall company-level improvements.
- Manage a team of traders, trading operators, and charterers, coordinating efforts to maximize volume and profitability from both internal and external sales.
- Oversee the regional trading P&L and meet financial targets.
- Develop and maintain a network of internal and external business partners.
- Contribute to continuous process and tool improvements to enhance efficiency and agility while ensuring compliance.
- Ensure the proper allocation of resources to execute the strategy and business plan, in line with internal processes and policies.
- Manage risk and compliance for trading and shipping in the region.
- Support business intelligence and project development for the Group.
EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATION:
- University technical/commercial/management education, ideally executive business degree (eMBA)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10 years of management positions in building materials / cement businesses. Sales, Marketing and Strategy experience is a must, ideally completed by exposure to maritime logistics and/or seaborne supply chain.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Technical competencies / job knowledge: in-depth understanding of cement/cementitious, properties and usages for various types of customers (Industrial projects, governmental sector, distributors, construction sites. Expertise in international seaborne trading and maritime regulations and logistics.
- Managerial and Interpersonal competencies / communication: agility to adjust management style and interpersonal relationship to a broad variety of country and company cultures, diplomatic, consistently promoting Holcim values and principles. Result driven, self-starter and hands on, while able to have a long term vision and define short to long term strategies.
- Cultural and language Skills; Bilingual English and one additional internationally representative language. Posted experience in at least 2 different countries. Strong appetite and curiosity for geo-political topics and multinational cultures.

The Head of Region is responsible for the trading P&L and defining the business roadmap in line with both the global and regional Holcim Trading & Shipping strategies:
- Achieve financial targets (EBIT, FCF, Net sales, etc.)
- Meet export/import needs of Group companies while maximizing profitability and asset utilization
- Grow third-party volumes and profitability, building long-term relationships
- Manage key partners through regular visits and a “Know Your Customers” approach
- Continuously update priorities for countries, partners, product portfolio, value propositions, and resource allocation
- Handle challenges like sudden shortages or port issues
- Foster innovation by staying updated on technological and commercial developments at both the Group and regional levels
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and processes to maintain smooth business operation
