Description:

PGG Wrightson Seeds is seeking a Head of Reporting and Compliance to join our team at our Pākāno (Lincoln) office, based just outside of Christchurch City.
Our Lincoln office is the head office for the Oceania group. Comprised of a number of business units, the Oceania team is made up of over 500 employees across Australia and NZ working in R&D, Product Development, Sales, Turf, Seed Production, Warehousing, Logistics, on-farm support and a corporate support team.
We are part of the global DLF Group, headquartered in Denmark, with operations across the UK and Europe, the USA, Canada, South America and Oceania; you will be a part of a truly worldwide co-operative.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the CFO you will be responsible for managing key aspects of the Group’s financial operations, including Oceania Group’s financial reporting requirements, the budgeting and forecasting process, audit, tax compliance and governance and driving innovation and change. You will provide accurate and timely reporting, advice and financial analysis to both the Oceania Management team and the global Board and contribute to developing the financial and operational strategies of the business. This role will also be responsible for the management of a small financial accounting team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Management of internal and external reporting – including statutory accounts, local management and DLF Group reporting.
  • Management and co-ordination of annual budget and forecast processes for Oceania Group.
  • Co-ordinate all internal and external stakeholders in the annual audit process; be the key interface with the external auditors.
  • Management of tax compliance, including review of various direct and indirect tax calculations and tax returns across the Oceania Group in accordance with the Group’s Tax Governance Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with and update the Group’s transfer pricing policy for new developments.
  • Management of the capital asset portfolio of Oceania Group.
  • Advising on technical accounting and tax issues.
  • Managing the Oceania Group insurance portfolio.
  • Financial modelling and analysis.
  • Attendance at regular EMT meetings to provide accurate financial information and analysis and contribute to the development of business strategies;
  • Maintaining a strong control environment and identifying areas for continual process improvement.
  • Management of a small financial accounting team.
