The Science Department is a caring and supportive environment where students can thrive. It also boasts a well established foundation and consistently achieves impressive results. Last year the department demonstrated it’s commitment to excellence as the results in both Triple Physics and Triple Chemistry exceeded the national average. This success is driven by a dedicated team of teachers with a range of specialisms who are well supported by an amazing Science Technician. This strong foundation, combined with innovative teaching methods and a focus on providing a supportive learning environment ensures the students at our Academy receive an excellent science education.
You will be supported on our journey by our Directors of Science. OGAT are proud to be part of the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) hosting its North and East campus as Outwood Academy Redcar and Outwood Academy Adwick. The NIoT identified best practice in education, in order to develop cutting-edge, evidence based teacher training and professional development programmes. OGAT colleagues will benefit from the work of the institute, which draws on the expertise of some of the most outstanding school leaders in education today.
