JOB OVERVIEW

Citizens School, a new and innovative educational hub in the heart of Dubai, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Secondary School to lead the secondary division. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding the school’s vision of “Inspire, Empower, Thrive,” ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, and pastoral care across all aspects of secondary education.
This role includes overseeing the development of a forward-thinking curriculum, aligned with both national standards and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Secondary School will be responsible for driving academic innovation, managing staff, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Significant leadership experience in secondary education, with expertise in the IB programme.
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience, with a deep understanding of pedagogical best practices.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, manage resources, and work collaboratively within a school community.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a commitment to inclusivity and educational excellence.

• Provide strategic leadership for the secondary school, ensuring the highest quality educational experience for learners.
• Oversee curriculum development and implementation from Years 9 to 11, in alignment with the IB programme and the Citizens Learning Framework.
• Promote and integrate the school’s core values of Entrepreneurship, Empathy, Inclusivity, Growth Mindset, Curiosity, Resilience, and Well-Being.
• Lead the professional development of secondary school staff with a focus on the IB programme and innovative teaching practices.
• Ensure compliance with IB standards and oversee the administration of MYP e-assessments and evaluations.
• Foster an environment that prioritises safeguarding, inclusion, and the overall well-being of students and staff.
