What You Will Do
We are seeking a Head of Service Sales to define and lead our commercial service sales organization. This role involves developing people, processes and tools to grow profitably in commercial; maximizing the installed base, driving the adoption of services, and meeting revenue, margin, and EBIT targets. You’ll work closely with Business Lines, regional teams, marketing, and central and regional service departments, focusing on Direct or Indirect Service Sales. You will also delegate tasks to a cross-functional team and report to the Senior Vice President of Central Service & Order Fulfillment. This role requires domestic and international travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Strategy: Create a global commercial service strategy aligned with business objectives, emphasizing customer-centric solutions.
  • Define and Implement Techniques: Establish service sales techniques and competencies built around customer productivity and the optimization of clinical, economic, and technical value.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Demonstrate effective leadership behaviors and ensure the service sales team has clear guidance and expectations for their roles.
  • Performance and Coaching: Ensure performance and coaching meetings take place with all regional service sales teams, initiating corrective actions when necessary.
  • Team Management: Oversee the selection, termination, development, measurement, motivation, and compensation of service sales employees in the regions.
  • Budget Management: Manage cost center budgets with monthly and quarterly governance of both regional and product dimensions.

What You Bring

We are looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who is not afraid to do the groundwork when needed. You should have a customer-centric mindset with the ability to translate customer issues and needs into profitable solutions, as well as a data-driven approach. Collaboration is key, and you will foster teamwork among members and teams, leveraging a wide range of individuals to address relevant issues. Additionally, you have:

  • Bachelor’s/University Degree or equivalent (MBA preferred).
  • Extensive previous experience in a senior service/aftermarket sales role.
  • Proven track record in working in complex international environments and driving results.
  • Extensive leadership experience in leading a complex global organization, with a track record of successful completion of complex projects.
  • Strong networking skills with the ability to build professional relationships with members of the medical, clinical, and technical community.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to be a skilled speaker and representative in social contexts.

It would be advantageous if you have prior experience in driving aftermarket sales in the medtech industry.
