Description:
The post holder will be a clinical registrant. The primary function of the role is to lead on site flow across unscheduled & scheduled care patient flows ensuring service needs are met including the development of business cases to support delivery incorporating operational standards, quality, financial and workforce needs.
Management of administrative, nursing and clinical services staff, responsible for workforce and organisational development including recruitment, career development, disciplinary, performance monitoring, and appraisals.
The Head of Site Management will develop the site escalation plan and will also lead on the seasonal planning activity on behalf of the Hospital Director of Operations. The post holder will be expected to lead site autonomously up to level 3 escalation at which point support will be provided from the Hospital Management Team to take on the site leadership with support from the Head of site management.
The Head of Site Management will be expected to keep the Hospital Management Team and the Hospital Director of Operations appraised of the position throughout the day seeking timely escalation for operational issues to the Hospital Director of Operations, nursing to Director of Nursing and Medical issues to the Medical Director.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Responsible for the overall leadership, management and strategic development of the Site Management function of the hospital ensuring effective patient flows (Scheduled and Unscheduled care). The post will provide leadership for the clinical services/strategy within area of responsibility, reporting directly to the Hospital Director of Operations.
Accountable for the process and systems for patient flows across the hospital incorporating scheduled and unscheduled care. The post holder will be responsible for the overall management of emergency care 4 hour standard. This will require daily monitoring and forward look approach towards managing patient flows in a safe, timely and responsive manner. The other area of responsibility will be the number of cancelled operations on the day due to bed availability. These operational standards will be shared with the respective Directorate General Managers and Heads of Nursing. The role will also be accountable for direct service delivery; liaising with external agencies relating to supported discharges at a strategic level across the health community. This will include sustaining effective partnership working to support the implementation of joint strategies with external organisations as appropriate eg: Local Authority; Area Teams; CHC; Police; Ambulance; Trust.
