As the Strategic Partnerships and Development Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role within the Council’s senior management team. You will work across departments to oversee and influence strategic decision-making, while assessing and mitigating corporate risks. Your focus will be on driving sustainable improvements in service delivery, supporting the borough’s growth ambitions, and enhancing outcomes for our communities. Additionally, you will have direct responsibility for leading the effective and efficient delivery of the Temporary Accommodation service, emphasizing tenancy sustainment and providing support to maximize the number of homeless households transitioning to successful longer-term accommodation.

Responsibilities:
Your role will involve leading negotiations with affordable housing providers, developers, landowners, funding organizations (primarily the GLA), and project teams, including Divisional resources, Project Officers, and external consultants as needed. Areas of responsibility include:
- Lead the implementation of new housing services, ensuring effective collaboration with internal teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions that meet community needs.
- Support the commissioning of affordable housing, addressing resident needs and securing funding from external agencies such as the GLA and Central Government while ensuring compliance as a Registered Provider.
- Direct the Council’s Housing Enabling role, focusing on increasing the supply of affordable housing through effective development, investment, and management strategies.
