We’re seeking a Head of Studio Engineering to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to our Director of Design Operations. You will be responsible for the Management and development of the Forseven Studio Engineering team and processes.
This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our planned Bicester location and our office in Leamington Spa. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

What you’ll do

  • Manage studio engineering activities across multiple full scale vehicle programmes. Providing Studio Engineering Support from early concept Design, through to manufacturing feasibility and tooling release.
  • Work with Architecture and Engineering leadership team to develop A surface feasibility and convergence process and measures, aligned to the Forseven NPI/gateway process.
  • Work closely with the Architecture and Engineering teams to ensure input to the development of the Exterior and Interior surfacing activities are evaluated and optimised to support the design delivery
  • Drive Design convergence. Including leadership of Cross Functional Design and Engineering reviews to ensure on time delivery of Hardpoint and Technical inputs into the Design process.
  • Present Design feasibility and technical convergence status at Monthly CEO reviews
  • Provide Design Technical support and Guidance to Design leadership team at Chairman Design reviews.
  • Support cross functional design review process and report out key technical challenges/issues that may impact on programme delivery
  • Lead weekly escalation and convergence review meetings to drive resolution of Design technical issues
  • Oversee the CAD development of feasible engineering schemes and proposals that deliver the design intent.
  • Management of design themes and surface output ensure compatibility with legal requirements, standards, programme assumptions and attribute requirements.
  • Management of the Studio feasibility issues tracking system and prepare weekly status reports
  • Management of the internal surface feasibility check and release process.

Who you are

  • An Experienced Studio Engineering Manager with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering Feasible design solutions at pace
  • Whole vehicle engineering experience with in-depth understanding of bumper + Exterior Trim engineering, Exterior Lighting systems, Occupant & Pedestrian Safety, Closures, Manufacturing & Assembly, Instrument Panel, Console + Door Trim engineering
  • Excellent CAD Knowledge. Catia V5/V6/3DX
  • Good understanding of the studio digital modelling processes – Alias/ICEM/Sub D/Blender
  • Good understanding of the studio physical modelling processes – Clay/Speed foams/SRMs/TRMs/Show cars
  • Possess exceptional organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively to solve 3Dimensional technical/feasibility issues
  • Apply business acumen and a customer driven mind-set to deliver designs
