Reporting to the VP, Talent and Total Rewards, the Head of Talent & Organizational Development will act as a trusted advisor, inspiring leader and consultant to the organization on Learning, Talent, and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) globally. They will play a pivotal role in advancing TMX’s talent, learning and development programs in alignment with its cultural values and talent priorities. In addition, a leadership opportunity to mentor a diverse team of professionals.
Key Accountabilities:
Advance and Nurture a Learning Culture
- Design and execute a learning strategy for the organization that is sustainable, scalable, measurable, and cost effective.
- Collaborate with leaders across the business as well as the HR leadership team to identify training needs in support of upskilling or re-skilling employees to achieve collective business objectives.
- Establish a consistent organizational approach to required training and compliance activities and lead the review of training content.
- Establish measurement tools/key performance indicators to track the success of learning programs and use data to advise on future strategies.
- Introduce a new learning management system and stay abreast of new and emerging technologies that could support training and learning.
Build a Robust Talent Pipeline
- Provide leadership on all aspects of talent management practices including workforce and succession planning, development programming for managers, high potentials and leaders, and mentorship/coaching programs.
- Develop, launch and embed a global competency model within the organization
- Utilize workforce metrics and data to understand trends and identify potential talent gaps and develop solutions to address them.
- Establish a strategy/framework to enhance talent mobility across the organization in support of individual development and business requirements.
Promote a Culture of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- Lead and support our global ED&I Council in the execution of our enterprise ED&I strategy, ensuring that diverse employee voices are heard; support the creation of enterprise Employee Resource Groups (ERG) where employee interest exists.
- Partner with the senior leadership team to establish an approach to data collection/monitoring and ensure the effective analysis of diversity surveys, talent review outcomes, and other culture audits.
- Support both internal and external reporting on ED&I initiatives and metrics, including third-party scorecards and TMX’s annual Environmental, Social and Governance Report.
- Advance and support TMX’s enterprise commitment to Indigenous Reconciliation, including leading our annual Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) certification process.
Advance Organizational Culture
- Lead the design and execution of enterprise forums and off sites, including our annual Global Leadership Team in-person meetings, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing and leadership development.
- Support the integration of acquired companies through culture assessments and integration planning, where required.
- Support organizational change and inclusive change management to transform strategies, policies and processes and ensure the associated foundational principles are diverse and inclusive.
Must haves:
- 10+ years’ experience leading Learning, Talent Development, or Organizational Change Management. Experience implementing innovative learning and talent models and programs on a global scale is desirable.
- Extensive experience in building relationships and establishing credibility with executive stakeholders across multiple departments through a consultative approach. Viewed as an inspiring leader among peers.
- Demonstrable experience developing and executing impactful development programming for high potentials and/or senior leaders, with proven ROI.
- The ability to quickly triage business requests, consult and seek to understand, generate solutions, make difficult decisions, resolve conflict, and apply sound judgment.
- Possesses strong business acumen and organizational skills to deliver results in a complex fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal skills, including significant communication and change management competencies.
- A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or Training and Development preferred
