This role is with one of our clients.
The Head of Technology is a pivotal position, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organisation’s technology infrastructure, development, operations and strategy implementation. This role requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in technology infrastructure, software engineering, and systems integration. This key role is not only about overseeing the organisation’s technology initiatives but also about harnessing the power of technology to propel them forward, delivering a strategic advantage that aligns with their core values and objectives.
The Head of Technology will work closely with the executive team to drive technological innovation, ensure robust system performance, and maintain the highest standards of cybersecurity.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Extensive experience in managing technology teams and projects, typically 10+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successful system development and technology project management.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering, development tools, and programming languages
  • Experience with cloud computing, server architecture, and database management.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity best practices and protocols.
  • Budget management experience and financial acumen to oversee technology investments
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the technology vision and strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Lead and mentor the technology team, inspiring a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department and across the organisation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending new systems and tools that can provide competitive advantage.
  • Responsible for analysing, forecasting and reporting against the IT budget

System Development and Engineering:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of industry management systems, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate technology seamlessly into industry solutions.
  • Implement best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing, and version control.

Infrastructure and Operations:

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the organisation’s technology infrastructure.
  • Manage cloud services, servers, and networks to support the company’s industry management systems.
  • Oversee all technological aspects of the organisation, serving as the point of contact for addressing and resolving technical issues, including system outages
  • Optimise performance and efficiency of systems and backend operations.

Cybersecurity and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity protocols to protect company and user data.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

Team Management and Collaboration:

  • Lead a team of IT professionals with a focus on fostering talent, encouraging professional development, and maintaining high engagement levels.
  • Foster effective collaboration between technology, product, and marketing teams to drive project success.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and consultants.
