JOB SUMMARY
Rock Petroleum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Terminal and Cargo Operations to oversee the management of our terminal facilities based in Dubai. In this leadership role, the Head of Terminal and Cargo Operations will be responsible for the smooth operation and efficiency of oil and petroleum product storage, handling, and distribution at our terminal locations. The role requires a strong focus on operational excellence, team leadership, and specific expertise in oil blending, tank-to-tank transfers, and experience with commercial vessels.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications in terminal operations are preferred.
- Have 8-10 years of experience in terminal operations management, ideally within the oil and energy industry.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of terminal infrastructure, storage systems, logistics, blending processes, tank-to-tank transfers, and regulatory compliance.
- Have experience working with commercial vessels and optimizing the operational processes related to maritime logistics.
- Possess strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage teams, lead projects, and implement operational strategies.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Head of Terminal and Cargo Operations, your responsibilities will include:
- Terminal Operations Management: Managing the daily operations of terminal facilities, including the safe storage, handling, and dispatch of oil and petroleum products.
- Commercial Acumen: Utilizing a commercially astute approach to optimize the terminal’s financial and operational performance, negotiating contracts, and ensuring profitability.
- Smooth Operations of Cargo in Terminals: Ensuring the seamless handling and movement of cargo within terminal facilities.
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels, prevent losses, and maintain product quality.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient transportation of products in and out of terminal facilities. Managing vessel scheduling, unloading, and loading activities, with specific experience in working with commercial vessels.
- Operational Efficiency: Continuously evaluating terminal operations to identify areas for improvement. Implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and increase productivity.
- Blending and Tank-to-Tank Transfers: Overseeing the blending of oil products and managing tank-to-tank transfers, ensuring optimal operational procedures and compliance with quality standards.
- Supplier and Vendor Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and contractors. Negotiating contracts for terminal services and ensuring the best terms and conditions are secured.
- Risk Management: Identifying and assessing risks associated with terminal operations, such as equipment failure, safety incidents, or environmental hazards. Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring a team of terminal operators. Fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Developing talent and providing opportunities for professional growth.
