Description:
The Head of Trade Finance and Cash Management positions sits within the SME team. Reporting to the Group and SG Head of SME, this role will be responsible for designing, building, and executing go-to-market strategies for Trade Finance (including Supply Chain Finance) and Cash Management propositions tailored to the needs of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This role involves developing value chain-led propositions, leading the deployment of innovative platforms, and driving collaboration with Fintech and Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs) to ensure superior financial performance.
Proposition Design and Development
- Trade Finance and Cash Management Solutions: Design, build, and implement Trade Finance (including Supply Chain Finance) and Cash Management solutions that address the specific needs, pain points, and target personas of SMEs.
- Value Chain Propositions**: Develop value chain-led propositions for suppliers, vendors, distributors (including deep-tier), across various ecosystems and industry verticals such as FMCG, F&B, Real Estate, Utilities & Telecom.
- Ecosystem Integration: Collaborate with GxS and GxB shareholders, corporate partners, and digital platform partners to integrate solutions across procurement and invoicing platforms, including Singapore’s Vendors@Gov Invoice Now platform
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in Trade Finance, Cash Management, Transaction Banking or a related role within the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on SME Banking.
- Strong understanding of Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Cash Management solutions, and the SME sector.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:
Proposition Design and Development
- Trade Finance and Cash Management Solutions: Design, build, and implement Trade Finance (including Supply Chain Finance) and Cash Management solutions that address the specific needs, pain points, and target personas of SMEs.
- Value Chain Propositions**: Develop value chain-led propositions for suppliers, vendors, distributors (including deep-tier), across various ecosystems and industry verticals such as FMCG, F&B, Real Estate, Utilities & Telecom.

Platform Deployment and Innovation:
- BaaS / SaaS Platforms: Identify, select, and deploy potential Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms to accelerate the launch of Trade Finance offerings, Liquidity Management solutions, and Corporate Online Banking, complementing the existing mobile app platform.
- Fintech and NBFI Collaboration: Explore and establish collaboration opportunities with Fintech and NBFI partners to leverage their platforms for debt/balance sheet deployment and other inorganic growth opportunities.
Financial Performance and Risk Management
- Financial Targets: Drive efforts to achieve superior financial performance, including customer acquisition, income growth, balance sheet management, and risk management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Partnerships, Product, and Risk teams to ensure the successful delivery of financial targets for allocated segments and products.
Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy and Execution
- GTM Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive GTM strategies for Trade Finance and Cash Management propositions.
- Market Research and Insights: Conduct market research and gather insights to inform product development and GTM strategies, ensuring alignment with SME needs and market trends.
- Campaign Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns related to Trade Finance and Cash Management solutions.
