The Head of Training & Checking is responsible for leading our aircraft and simulator checking and training team who are responsible for ensuring that we are providing the airline with exceptionally well-trained pilots across our fleet, to high industry standards. In this role, you will drive and deliver training, checking and testing activities to ensure they are safe, efficient, effective and compliant with relevant regulations. Alongside this, you will work closely with the wider Qantas team, enabling and influencing relevant stakeholders to deliver strategic objectives for Network Aviation’s Training and Checking Organisation. This role is suited to someone who has significant Checking and Training experience, who can bring their leadership and communication skills to the forefront, as they manage a range of different projects and competing priorities.
You’ll have –
- 10+ years operational line pilot experience operating in a High Capacity RPT and/or Charter operation
- Ability to satisfy CASA in accordance with CASA regulatory requirements for the Network AOC Head of Training and Checking
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and engage a diverse range of people through communication and leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of the Civil Aviation Regulatory framework
- Ability to drive and manage change function within a multi-function environment with multiple stakeholders
- Airline safety, assurance and quality systems knowledge
