Head of Transport

VANRATH are assisting with the recruitment of a Head of Transport for a major company that specialises in Logistics and Disposal.
This is a Full-time position - Monday - Friday position - There is only a requirement to work 1 in 4 Fridays - Essentially a 4-day working week
Permanent position - Position of work is Mallusk - Role will also involve some travel to other sites

You will manage transportation, fleet operations and logistics across our five-site operations in the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe to ensure efficient, effective and timely delivery. You will oversee and optimise our entire logistics network related to collections and redeployments, shredding operations, shipments, and on-site services. You will play an essential part in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve logistics performance.

• Direct and monitor the day-to-day activities of the transportation and logistics team, including drivers, through your Logistics Manager and Team Leaders.
• Provide leadership and direction to the transportation and logistics team, including training, development, and performance management.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with third-party carriers, suppliers, and other partners to ensure reliable transportation services.
• Be designated as the Transport Manager on our Operator’s License and ensure the license is in place.
• Be required to ensure compliance with all relevant transport laws and regulations.
