We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Private Banking team, working together to provide a world class service to our most valuable clients.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of junior and senior Relationship Managers based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
  • Maintain ‘Trusted Advisor’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients, with a proactive and regular calling programme of key clients.
  • Co-ordinate origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of HSBC products and services.
  • Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment.
  • Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required credit quality and requisite returns on risk.
  • Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector/country expertise as appropriate, working closely and proactively with other teams.
  • Grow HSBC’s share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Where leadership responsibilities are assigned, lead the client management sector team to achieve team’s business objectives and ensure ongoing development of all team members.
  • Actively promote, manage, train, develop and assess all members of the team within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Take ownership for arising issues that impact clients, leading others to resolve them and proactively seeking opportunities to lead in develop business improvements.
  • Actively lead their peers in the business and striving for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with others to create and grow effective partnerships across the entire organization, to drive effective performance.
  • Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with stakeholders at the Group level and those in other Regions and Businesses.
  • Create an environment for the delivery of consistent performance measurement, training, career management and succession planning across the Front Office capability.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong relationship management experience in the banking sector within UHNW MENA segment clients (ideally in UAE market).
  • Demonstrated track record of leading a team of Relationship Managers.
  • Ability to define client specific strategies to achieve targets.
  • Decision maker, capable of providing judgment and clear direction within the established framework.
  • Able to strategize and prioritize work plans with strong business vision.
  • Team player who can frequently exchange ideas with other team members and colleagues.
  • Proven track record solving highly complex problems to deliver excellent client advice and service.
  • Strong leadership qualities with excellent analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in developing strong relationships.
  • Outstanding team player capabilities.
  • In depth knowledge of market trends specific to clients’ business and industry.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Solutions driven work approach paired with entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
  • Graduation degree is a must to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
  • Under the New Labour Law, only fixed term contracts shall be available to all employees of HSBC UAE (except DIFC and ADGM employees) – hence in line with the term of work permit, a 4 years’ contract would be issued.
