As our Head of UfI Project, you will lead, manage, and direct the UfI Vocational Challenge project aimed at reducing educational barriers and promoting inclusive learning through innovative digital platforms.
This role combines strategic leadership, project management, and instructional design expertise to deliver high-quality learning content, enhance employability, and improve volunteer engagement across the community.
The post holder will be responsible for driving the project forward, ensuring all deliverables are met, and that the project remains aligned with Hull College’s digital transformation goals.

Responsibilities of our Head of UfI Project:
- Lead the UfI Vocational Challenge project, overseeing all phases from conceptualisation to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and project goals.
- Manage a cross-functional team, including content creators, videographers, instructional designers, and external partners, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely achievement of milestones.
- Foster strong collaboration with HEY! Volunteering and other stakeholders, ensuring all partnerships contribute effectively to project outcomes.
- Design and oversee the creation of approximately forty micro-credential courses, focusing on employability, skills development, and volunteering pathways.
- Lead the development of innovative digital learning experiences, including a digital Escape Room, which engage and inspire adult learners.
- Ensure all learning materials are accessible, inclusive, and tailored to meet the needs of specific sub-groups, such as ESOL learners, older adults, and individuals with mental health challenges.
- Uphold rigorous quality standards in the design and delivery of all educational content.
- Direct the creation of a new digital platform aimed at expanding access to learning opportunities and supporting volunteer engagement.
- Oversee the integration of digital tools and technologies to enhance learner engagement and support project scalability.
- Ensure the digital platform is user-friendly and effectively supports the learning and development goals of the project.
- Implement robust quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the project, including the impact of micro-credentials and digital learning tools.
- Collect and analyse data on learner engagement, course completion, and outcomes to inform continuous improvement and project success.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting project achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future initiatives.
What we’re looking for in our Head of UfI Project:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in a related field or professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- Proven experience in leading complex educational or digital learning projects, with a strong record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Experience in instructional design, particularly in the development of micro-credentials or modular learning programs.
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes in a further educational setting and experience in evaluating the impact of educational initiatives.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in digital learning platforms and tools, with a deep understanding of how technology can enhance learning outcomes.
