We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our HSBC Amanah team in the role of Head of Wealth & Personal Banking, Amanah, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
The purpose of this role is to manage and develop HSBC Amanah (HBMS) with the objective of contributing to profitability and to enhance the client experience. Develop proactive plans to maximize profit and ensures Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) and propositions are aligned by effective and proactive collaboration across all segments. To collaborate with related WPB teams & Risk Stewards to ensure all critical risk tasks are conducted thoroughly, such as KYC, AML and workflows to control and manage governance, risk management and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of broad-based retail banking experience including experience in both network management and product development.
  • Experience working within a global Group structure and track record of delivering upon local site needs
  • Strong leadership in leading cross-cultural teams and a track-record of building talent.
  • Strong business sense to invest in business and grow HSBC’s franchise into lucrative customer segments and new products.
  • Successful track record with implementing new initiatives and business acquisition
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders across functions
  • Professional, goal-oriented, innovative and well organised
  • Prior Islamic finance industry engagement is highly desirabl

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of new products as well as implementation and delivery parallel to Bank’s strategy and vision/mission and their performance & strategies of existing products based on the market demand and regulatory compliance requirement (Central Bank) and continuously improve processes of product delivery for asset products.
  • Provide product expertise on complex client requirements and coordinate with other regional and global product teams to ensure that the client is provided the best solution, including providing all the essential presentation tools and business support.
  • Enhance Client Trust in HSBC in total Retail Relationship Balance (not include Mortgage), Savings Balances, Wealth Insurance and Investment Sales.
  • To liaise with relevant parties such as the Shariah Advisory team, Bank Negara Malaysia, Association of Islamic Banks in Malaysia, legal and regulatory compliance departments during the process of products development & enhancement to ensure that HBMS products are Shariah compliant.
  • To liaise and work in collaboration with stakeholders for product development and management matters.
  • To be responsible for providing advice and assistance to all businesses in relation to all product requirements associated with HBMS products.
  • Ensure all risks associated with the products managed are identified and adequately mitigated.
  • To maintain and ensure due observance of HSBC Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal / external auditors and external regulators.
