Description:
Head Pastry Chef at East Bristol Bakery
Our independent community bakery is looking for an experienced Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry and cake team on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Head Baker and General Manager. We are working out of our new cake and pastry site in Old Market, with a small team you will continue making our fantastic products and inspiring with new ideas, techniques while encouraging creativity and recipe development within your team.
Essential criteria for the role:
- Passion for cake and pastry
- Experience in cake making/ baking.
- Experience in Cake development -using seasonal ingredients
- Organised and able to keep on top of deliveries of products going out to other sites and manage our own counter stock.
- Able to work to in a fast paced environment, have good time management and a great work ethic.
- Build recipes and train staff to the standards expected
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
Non essential criteria, but preferred:
- Savouries have been a huge hit for us so if you have a chefs touch and think you can help us continue to expand this then let us know.
- Laminating pastry, ideal but not essential as training can be provided.
