FORMULA FOR SUCCESS

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Technician to join our Technical Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving and implementing technical, color, and digital customer solutions while aligning customer initiatives with our Distribution teams. You will steer customer solutions delivered by the technical field teams within the designated territory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and describe key customer and distribution visit frequency cycles, setting objectives and action plans based on business rules and sales priorities.
• Assign, steer, and monitor Technical Service Representatives (TSRs) priorities daily to ensure rapid response to critical customer technical and color situations.
• Define and implement key customer technical service initiatives in collaboration with Distribution field technical support functions.
• Participate in regular distribution manager meetings to create technical service planning and objectives, aligning resources and monitoring outcomes.
• Identify and address the development needs of both BASF and Distribution field technical functions through coaching and training.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to relationship management.

• A solid understanding of vehicle refinishing processes and the ability to implement technical solutions that meet customer needs effectively.6+ years of experience in the refinish industry required, with a background in coaching and development.
• Experience in coaching and training both internal teams and external partners, ensuring that all staff are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver outstanding service. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and effective communication skills.
• A commitment to demonstrating customer focus by proactively addressing client needs, resolving complaints promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with modern auto refinish materials preferred but not essential
