ABOUT YOU

You will hold a level 6 qualification in health and safety, or be working towards this and be TECH IOSH or above depending on qualifications and experience.You will have experience of working in a health and safety rolein policing or other complex organisation with a varied risk profile.
You will have a flexible approach with the ability to manage your workload, prioritising competing and sometimes urgent demands.
The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
This role is open to all Police Staff / external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person spec, regardless of current grade. Vetting level required: RV/CTC
Location: New Street, City of London (hybrid)
Salary: £39,340 + £6,710 London Weighting per annum Pay award pending

THE ROLE

The health and safety business partner supports the organisation by providing assurance, operational support and guidance working with risk owners across City of London Police to develop local arrangements and maintain compliance with the Force’s health and safety management system.

Key tasks of the post-holder include:

  • Asist risk owners develop and manage health and safety arrangements within their areas of responsibility.
  • Provision of technical and proportionate heath and safety risk management advice with the ability to interpret information where issues are complex or conflicting with the ability to consider a number of factors.
  • Oversight of the organisation’s health and safety incident reporting system, supporting managers to undertake health and safety incident investigations.
  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the organisation’s health and safety management system.
  • Devise and deliver training courses and toolbox talks.
  • Establish an extensive network of collaborative and respectful relationships in order to deliver a professional service and encourage a positive safety culture.
