Description:
Our client - a large food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced E H S Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the EHS Manager in ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or a related field
- Preferably 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience (not required)
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
- Train the Trainer / Occupational First Aid preferred
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Train employees on safety procedures and provide ongoing support and guidance
- Monitor and report on environmental, health and safety performance to management
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and near misses
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures
- Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives
