Description:

Our client - a large food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced E H S Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the EHS Manager in ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or a related field
  • Preferably 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience (not required)
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
  • Train the Trainer / Occupational First Aid preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Train employees on safety procedures and provide ongoing support and guidance
  • Monitor and report on environmental, health and safety performance to management
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and near misses
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures
  • Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives
