In this vital role, you will be instrumental in implementing and maintaining health and safety standards that protect our people and ensure our compliance with regulatory requirements. Under the guidance of our Operations Manager and Health & Safety Lead, you’ll ensure that every aspect of our food manufacturing environment adheres to the highest safety standards, helping us maintain our reputation for excellence and care.
This crucial position focuses on maintaining high health and safety standards and includes essential administrative duties to support our operations team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement and monitor health and safety policies and programs to ensure a safe workplace according to legal guidelines and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to minimize hazards.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions on health and safety practices and regulations for staff.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions and report findings to management.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers’ compensation claims.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
  • Participate in continuing education to update knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques.
  • Assist with other operational administrative tasks as needed to support the overall efficiency of the facility.

What Makes You the Perfect Fit:

  • You are an aspiring health and safety professional, possibly with up to one year of experience or even newly certified.
  • You hold a NEBOSH certification or are in the process of certification, demonstrating your foundational knowledge and commitment to health and safety practices.
  • You possess a keen interest in learning and growing within the field, with a proactive attitude towards enhancing workplace safety.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities are key, as you’ll collaborate across teams to implement safety protocols and manage administrative duties.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Able to motivate others, ask questions, and engage effectively to promote safety awareness.

The Practicalities:
Location: Unit 2, Sence Court, Bardon Hill, Coalville, LE67 1GZ.
Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Reporting to: Operations Manager/Health & Safety Lead
