Job Description
They will be proactive and self-motivated, able to identify areas of improvement and lead action to that effect. The successful candidate will be part of the overall Dublin Airport Safety Department and will report directly to the Airport’s H&S Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support, provide advice and act as a resource and subject matter expert to internal teams and management on health and safety requirements for Asset Management.
  • Review documentation and monitor compliance of PSDP and PSCS entities working on behalf of Asset Management.
  • Deliver internal training on health and safety subject matters including but not limited to Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights, Lock Out Tag Out and Manual Handling.
  • Support line managers in incident investigation. Identify appropriate corrective actions for implementation and communicate lessons learned.
  • Encouraging good ‘Reporting Culture’ within Asset Management.
  • Auditing and inspection of Asset Management teams on an agreed scheduled frequency and as required. Communicate findings of audit and inspection reports to the relevant line management for action.
  • Record internal statutory inspections on daa platforms.
  • Ensure the HSE management systems, processes and tools are fit for purpose, align to certified standards and drive continuous improvement for Asset Management.
  • Assist daa with implementing and maintaining ISO standards and ensuring these standards are maintained
  • Advise senior leadership team of strategic improvements required based on data informed trends, external influences and changes within the organisation.
  • Support Asset Mgt leadership in developing effective and appropriate processes and procedures to meet regulatory requirements
  • Review relevant information in safety files for handover to the Contracting Entity at the end of the project.
  • Work collaboratively with the daa procurement team on Contract Tenders related to Asset Management and its roles and responsibilities.
  • Represent Asset Management health and safety at all relevant daa meetings as required.
  • Develop and distribute Asset Management health and safety performance reports on agreed frequency. Reports to include but not limited to leading and lagging and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor Permit to Work application documentation to ensure Asset Management health and safety requirements are identified and appropriately addressed.
  • Review and update SOP’s, construction site permits and safe plan of actions
  • Using Electronic Documentation Records Management System (EDRMS), reviewing compliance and performance to Risk Assessments Method Statements, Safe Work Procedures, Safe Operating Procedures
  • Ensure statutory inspection records are maintained for the legally required time.
  • Review Asset Management Preliminary H&S Plans and Construction Health and Safety Plans when carrying out the duties of a Project Supervisor.
  • Ensure AF1 and/or AF2 notification is submitted to the regulator as required.
  • Establish, drive and implement best practice in relation to HSE across the programme
  • Work with department managers to implement a positive Health and Safety culture, consistency and uniformity in terms of Health and Safety compliance and standards
  • Lead the development of processes that enable safety, and occupational health risks to be identified and mitigated – including those associated with organisational and operational change.

Qualifications

  • Minimum level 7 diploma (or equivalent qualification) in health and safety.
  • Candidates with qualification(s) in a relevant trade would be preferable.
  • Chartered membership with IOSH preferable.
  • Working knowledge of Irish regulations for (non-exhaustive) occupational health and safety, construction, and mechanical and electrical systems.
  • 2-5 years’ experience working in a maintenance or construction type role.
  • Previous experience managing H&S in a maintenance or construction work environment.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety management systems.
  • Time management; proactive management of deadlines and priorities
  • Communication both written and verbal at all levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, influence and collaborate across all levels of the Asset Management workstream.
  • Work both autonomously and as a team player across both Asset Management and Dublin Airport Safety Team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a positive, can-do flexible work attitude
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft systems such as Word, Excel, Power point, Visio etc.Committed to daa values
