Description:
As a professional manager working at corporate level across the organisation with considerable freedom to act and interpretation of legislation/policy/procedures, the post holder(s) will play a key role in supporting and deputising for the Deputy Head of Health, Safety & Security. This is to ensure that Health & Safety effectively contributes to the corporate objectives and strategic direction of the Health Board, working within the framework of HSG65 and good corporate governance. The post holder will have expert/specialist knowledge in the area of Health & Safety.

The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring the organisation’s defined arrangements for the management of health & safety are being carried out and they will contribute to managing the Health Board’s statutory and best practice provision that includes; co-ordinating, developing, planning, communicating, training and monitoring in all relevant aspects of health & safety, along with the line management and day to day supervision of the Health & Safety Advisers as directed by the Head of Health & Safety.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The post holder will work with the Deputy Head of Health & Safety in the development and implementation of a long term, standard & consistent approach to Corporate Health and Safety Planning and will lead on the co-ordination and development of health and safety related policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines.
