To ensure that we deliver a safe low carbon heat install to our domestic customers, we look to continually develop the safety, compliance and quality assurance side of the business.
We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws, heavily involved in the logistical side of it all. Working as part and alongside compliance team to develop the internal safety and quality management of our employee’s and technical process’s and standards, ensuring a consistent high level of safe service is delivered to our customers, engineers and employees within Octopus Energy Services.
You’ll have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards, specifically working around our distribution centres - it’d be awesome if you have a logistical H&S background. You’ll be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential.
The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support the SHE Manager and the wider operational business to ensure all aspects of works are procured, managed and delivered in line with internal and external SHE requirements
  • Work and support the logistic and transport managers
  • Manage third party HSE providers across Octopus portfolio, driving safety culture across and ensuring compliance with OR standards and procedures
  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluate facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Identify any gaps in the health and safety systems and recommend improvements.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover direct causes
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures and report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
  • Work with the wider team to onboard and grow our supply chain
