Applicants for this role must have the following qualifications or equivalent:
\n

  • Level 3 NEBOSH Certificate\n
  • TechIOSH grade of a H&S professional body\n

\n
Alongside these you must have relevant experience from the sector, of H&S training and of achieving performance targets against deadlines.
\n
Ideally candidates would have the following or comparable qualifications, or be willing to work towards them:
\n

\n

  • Teaching qualification\n
  • First aid trainer\n
  • H&S trainer\n

\n
We’re looking for candidates who with experience of CDM regulations, radiation safety and COSHH.
\n
You should be familiar with producing reports and presentation, investigating accidents and accident prevention, as well as strong interpersonal and IT skills.

Responsibilities:

\n
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Officer to ensure Activate Learning’s adherence to health and safety regulations across our Oxfordshire Campuses.
\n
Supporting the Group Health and Safety Manager in ensuring legislative compliance for college activities, you’ll conduct health and safety inspections/audits, promote a positive culture towards H&S, and provide training to employees across the group.
\n
Maintaining an awareness of current and forthcoming H&S legislation, you’ll audit our compliance against this with regular inspections and spot checks, and alert appropriate managers of the remedial actions required to keep abreast of our responsibilities. This will include training staff and senior management to support compliance in their areas.

As the Fire Safety Coordinator for Oxfordshire, you’ll also monitor and advise on fire evacuation exercises and support the management of Evacuation Wardens for your regional colleges.
\n
This is a permanent, full-time role and travel will be required between our campus locations across Oxfordshire. Some support at our other colleges may occasionally be needed.
