Description:
Ayrton Group are seeking a Health and Safety Officer for an on-site position with our client, a ground investigation specialist. This projects involves site works across a 40km route through the Kildare/Meath area.
The project will involves site works across a 40km route through the Kildare/Meath area and as such the ideal candidate should have experience in Roadworks and Utilities. Traffic Management experience would also be advantageous.
This is an initial 5 month contract role commencing in early January, with the potential for extension.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Health and Safety, preferably with a focus in roadworks and utilities.
- Minimum of a Diploma in Health and Safety.
- Safe Pass and SLG Training required.
- Traffic Management experience would be beneficial.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate/concise records and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting with little direction or direct supervision.
- You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
- Full license and vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring adherence to company EHS Management system and relevant statutory provisions and legislation.
- Supporting and mentoring all staff on H&S matters.
- Monitoring H&S performance on site.
- Completing H&S inspections, ensuring standards are maintained, and that any remedial actions are being addressed.
- Ensuring H&S documentation is sufficient and maintained diligently.
- Completing accident/incident investigations, report writing, and following up on corrective actions.
- Ensuring that statutory inspections are completed and filed away.
- Reviewing RAMS for high-risk works.
- Attending meetings such as site H&S, safety committee, high-risk workshops, etc.
- Ensuring PPE is resourced, available and issued to staff.
- Assisting in any safety or wellbeing initiatives implemented by company.
- Updating forms and templates for inclusion on the client Integrated Management System.
- Ensuring welfare and hygiene facilities are in place, managed and maintained.
- Inductions and toolbox talks as required.
- Performing any other duties and responsibilities of a similar level and nature as required.
