Health and Safety Officer

Ayrton Group are seeking an on-site Health and Safety Officer to join our client, a large retailer, at their distribution centre in the Kildare region.
This is a 7-month contract role with the potential for extension.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Recognised qualification in Health & Safety.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Health & safety preferred.
• Knowledge of PSCS would be beneficial.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
• Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.

• Conduct regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
• Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment.
• Perform incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
• Review SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
• Management of all Health & Safety paperwork on-site.
• Carry out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
