We are seeking a Health and Safety Officer to be part of a team ensuring a safe and compliant work environment while supporting the acceleration of energy transition.
The principal purpose of the Health and Safety Officer role is to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company requirements on site, contributing to the overall safety and well-being of personnel. The position exists to implement and maintain the company’s Safety Management System, identify and address training needs, and support the Health and Safety Manager in fostering a safe working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Relevant 3rd Level EHS qualification essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
- Experience working in the Construction Sector desired.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office required.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring site personnel comply with all safety and company requirements, and report findings to the Head of EHS.
- Review sub-contractors Methods Statements / Risk Assessments and assist where required.
- Provide general support and assistance to the Head of EHS.
- Ensure that site personnel comply with site safety and company requirements.
- Implement and maintain company’s Safety Management System.
- Identifying training needs, and report requirements to the project Head of EHS.
- Deliver and oversee workplace health and safety inductions, weekly toolbox talks, on-site training, and safety initiatives.
- Organising and chairing Safety Meetings.
- Develop and implement common standards and procedures to drive continual improvement and a consistent approach to EHS throughout the Business.
- Maintain and assess sub-contractor insurance, safety statements, and method statements.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health issues, and contribute to improvement initiatives.
- Submit weekly reports.
- Advising and assisting the site teams in drafting Safe Plans of Action.
- Responsible for workplace health and safety training, toolbox talks meetings and initiatives with regular safety audits throughout the company, attending client safety audits and meetings.
- Support corporate EHS activities and drive a Culture of EHS throughout the business to reduce incidents.
- Ensures compliance with safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Working in a dynamic team the post holder will assist with building and managing complex engineering & construction projects.
- Identify issues and risks at the earliest opportunity and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
- Ensure our core Customer Care principles are adhered to.
- Implement EHS strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Manage EHS programmes throughout the Business
- Provide oversight and governance of our EHS programmes
- Support EHS performance reporting standards and to work collaboratively to verify EHS Compliance to Business standards
