DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Murdoch Developmental Center is currently accepting applications for a Health Benefits Representative.
We are seeking an energetic, forward-thinking and passionate team player to join our Human Resources team. This position serves as part of the Benefits Team and provides employee support of a variety of benefit programs to include family medical leave, short-term disability, retirement, worker’s compensation, benefits enrollment and supplemental benefit programs. This Human Resources Office is a team of dedicated professionals that perform a full range of support functions to the facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and monitoring employee records, eligibility, time and personnel actions
- Assisting employees with orientation and benefits enrollment and advocating with vendors on employee behalf to resolve benefits issues, etc.
- Processing related actions that effect payroll
This full-time position is eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays and retirement, etc.

Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required;
OR
2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
Responsibilities:

- Experience with an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) system
- Knowledge of state and federal employment rules governing pay, benefits and leave
- Experience in MS Office (i.e., Excel and Word) for reports, tracking and monitoring work activities
Management Preferences:
- Ability to apply technical and procedural benefit policies and procedures in a complicated HRIS environment
- Ability to monitor, track and reconcile benefit transactions for quality assurance and timeliness
- Ability to apply policy, regulations, and procedures to a variety of employment situations
- Ability to provide training and guidance to others for the areas assigned
