Description:

SUMMARY

Spire is hiring a Health Benefits Specialist at its Downtown St. Louis (MO) location. This position is responsible for benefits systems administration and assisting with the administration of Spire’s health and welfare plans, wellness and other programs available to employees, retirees and their dependents. This role may also lead projects or assist portions of larger cross-functional project teams.

REQUIRED EDUCATION (CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related discipline field required
  • Additional certifications such as CEBS, SPHR, or PHR preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES

  • 5+ years of related benefits experience required
  • Experience with a benefits administration system (BenefitFocus, BenefitSolver, Empryean, etc.), preferably BenefitFocus, required
  • Must have strong analytical skills and “intermediate” knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.
  • Strong project management and written communication skills to support benefit plan communications.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide analysis, design, implementation and administration of the benefit systems, plans and programs
  • Lead projects within the Benefits team or lead portions within a larger project
  • Serve as key resource in the execution of the benefit and total reward strategy
  • Develop, and document the processes and relevant information for benefit plan administration.
  • Research multiple systems and leverage contacts to resolve benefit issues. Provide recommendations to resolve the issue.
  • Prepare data with associated benefit plan, provide recommendations based on data.
  • Review, reconcile and prepare for payment benefit plan invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborates with Payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of benefit deductions and employer contributions.
  • Compile information for budget projections
  • Serve as key Benefit resource on cross-functional projects and to internal stakeholders, or in other duties as assigned.
