Healthcare Assistant – Endoscopy Decontamination and Procedure room
Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons are currently recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to work in conjunction with our nursing team based in the Endoscopy Unit to include reprocessing and decontamination of Reusable Invasive Medical Devices.
Post: Full-time/Part-time permanent position, working on a rotational roster basis to include weekend work
Hours of work: 30 hours per week, flexibility around working days and times is an inherent part of this role.
Salary: From €34,434 per annum pro rata dependent on relevant experience
The position would suit a self-motivated person with an ability to work effectively as part of a team. You must be adaptable, enthusiastic and committed to a positive patient experience and contributing to quality of care.
Bon Secours Health System is developing a new 150 bed medical facility in Ballysimon to the east of Limerick City. Building works have commenced with a plan to open this new state-of-the-art hospital in 2025. This commitment will see the expansion of surgical specialties currently delivered by Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons plus the addition of cardiology, MAU and other medical services.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must hold a FETAC / QQI Level 5 qualification in Health Care Support
• At least 1 years’ experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
• Previous experience in a hospital setting would be advantageous
• Previous experience in decontamination of endoscopes would be advantageous
• Possess excellent organisational skills
• Flexibility in regard to working in other patient areas as determined by the service needs
• Follow all health and safety policies in accordance with hospital policy
• To practice within and support the Bon Secours Mission and Values, policies, procedures, guidelines and new initiatives as directed / introduced by the hospital.
