Dublin Central Mission (DCM) is a part of the Dublin District of the Methodist Church in Ireland and one of five Methodist city missions on the island of Ireland. Our vision is to reflect God’s love by welcoming, serving and supporting those who need it most.

Expressing our Christian faith in practice, the Mission is comprised of:

• A Church and social action centre (Lower Abbey Street). The congregation gathers here to worship and share community. Self-help programmes, english conversation and art classes, a homeless ministry and an open doors programme attract over 1200 people to the centre each week.
• A church community in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
• Services to the older person- two sheltered housing complexes and a nursing home in South Dublin, serving over 130 people.

Following the ministry example of Jesus we strive to ensure that the groups of people we relate to are always treated as individuals, whether that be in church, in the city centre or in our services to the older person.

CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A FULL-TIME HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT TO WORK IN OUR NURSING HOME - MOUNT TABOR NURSING HOME, BASED IN SANDYMOUNT DUBLIN 4. APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FROM CANDIDATES RESIDING WITHIN THE EUROPEAN UNION WHO POSSESS HEALTHCARE / CARE OF THE OLDER PERSON EXPERIENCE, WORK AUTHORISATION AND QQI LEVEL 5

Working under the direction of the Home Manager/ Director of Care, the Healthcare Assistant will provide appropriate personal care and other support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Healthcare QQI Level 5 or a comparable relevant qualification of at least QQI Level 5.
• Knowledge and experience of working in the elder care sector (Desirable).
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be accountable for the provision of high quality, effective care.
• Provide holistic care to all residents
• Attend to resident needs at all times
• Possess a focus on quality of service and approach every resident with dignity and respect
• Ensure to create good interpersonal relations with residents and their famililies
• To comply with all policies and procedures of Dublin Central Mission.
• Be familiar with regulatory bodies and the role they play in governing nursing homes/ sheltered housing.
• Demonstrate full competence in duties being undertaken
• Report any matters of concern to your immediate manager particularly relating to residents in distress
• Create good working relations with residents and their families
• Communicate with the wider team in affective mannger
• Work to the highest standards as outlined in teh company procedures
• Be flexible and be able to work between sites and work different shifts
• Maintain a professional appearance and dress code
• Represent he company in a Professional Manner
• Attend all training as allocated by the company
• Maintain Professional Appearance at all times
• Comply with all Policies and Procedures

Pay: From €14.91 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week

• 10 hour shift

• Every weekend
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekend availability

Experience:

• Healthcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (preferred)
