As an Actuary, you will work with our Employee Benefits and Defined Benefits teams to provide data to our service teams and clients. QUALIFICATIONS:
You are perfect for this opportunity if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an actuarial role.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
- The ability to obtain and retain a Life and Health Insurance license.
- High integrity, good judgment skills, and commitment to doing the right thing for their clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player with a great attitude, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Must be thorough, detail-oriented, and responsible for working with confidential information.
- Ability to accommodate immediate requests, perform under short deadlines, and coordinate multiple sales opportunities.
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities:
- Senior actuary for post-retirement medical valuation reports for both GASB and FASB accounting purposes.
- Review and set annual company-specific healthcare trend rates and other assumptions for OPEB valuations.
- Develop customized consulting projects, including analysis of trust funding/reimbursement policy options, retiree benefit plan design changes impact, and experience studies.
- Generate contributions for OPEB funding policies, including Actuarially Determined Contributions (ADC).
- Estimate employer reserves for incurred but unpaid claims and issue statements of actuarial opinion regarding asset adequacy.
