Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 2 HCSW to join our dedicated team in the Urology Treatment Centre at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital with across site cover to The Princess of Wales Hospital
We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and can deliver patient-centred care in line with the values and behaviours of the University health board. Urology experience is not essential and all training pertinent to the role will be provided within the department.
Clinical duties will include
Plan and organise their day-to-day tasks and offer support to the nursing and medical staff
Undertake delegated direct and indirect patient care related tasks as trained and assessed as competent to do
Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and well-maintained environment in line with local policies and procedures
Prepare the patient for clinical examinations and procedures, offering support and reassurance
Assist in preparing equipment for patient examinations and procedures e.g. catheterisation and Urodynamics
Be trained in various procedures within the department
Perform Pre-operative urine testing and send samples to the pathology lab,
Assist in nurse led flow rate clinics and with contacting and booking patients
Assist with flexible cystoscopy lists as a runner for the trained staff, cleaning the scopes in between procedures or checking urines.
Assist in maintaining stock levels and following a period of training, undertake the ordering of disposable stores and basic stock control procedures to ensure stock rotation and adequate stock levels are sufficient.
