WDG Public Health is a hybrid work environment. Certain employee groups may be permitted to work remotely based on the nature of the position and program. A minimum expectation of onsite presence is required, which will be dependent on operational needs.
The Health Data Analyst is responsible for extracting, manipulating, interpreting, analyzing and explaining health-related data from local, provincial and federal data sources. This position will provide professional advice and support on the creation and implementation of appropriate data gathering instruments. The Health Data Analyst position will investigate, analyze and develop methods, processes and procedures to increase the efficiency of health database use by end-users, and to achieve and maintain a high level of data quality.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree in a field related to analytics/data management
  • Minimum 3 years of practical work-related experience
  • Good communication skills, including presentation and writing skills
  • Technical skills, including computer programming and database management
  • Data interpretation and data manipulation skills
  • Ability to generate reports and perform statistical analyses
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge exchange skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in using Business Intelligence (BI) tools and dashboard development preferred
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping skills preferred
  • Prior experience in public health preferred
