POSITION SUMMARY
Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Health and Wellness.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior student leadership, peer education, event planning and/or health education-related experience in helpful, but not required.
- Commitment to provide education and outreach relating to topics relevant to college students. (e.g. nutrition, physical activity, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, sexual and reproductive health, sexual assault and dating/relationship violence, sleep, stress, eating disorders, body image, etc.)
- Role model for responsible and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently (be a self-starter).
- Ability to multi-task, demonstrate sound decision making and complete assigned duties by deadlines.
- Must be dependable and responsible.
- Schedule flexibility, including ability to work some evenings and weekends.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Meet with Health Education & Promotion staff on weekly basis.
- Networking and collaborating with student organizations, campus departments and community organizations.
- Assist in design of marketing materials and promoting programs to campus community
- Assist in the planning and execution of various health awareness observances and campaigns on campus: “Aware, Awake, Alive,” Sexual Responsibility Week, Mental
- Health Awareness, National Nutrition Month, etc.
- Assist with creating content for social media platform, including educational messages and graphics/images/photos.
- Assist with tracking social media user traffic and evaluate effectiveness of platform.
- Assist in the design and administration of program evaluations.
- Other duties as assigned.
