Part-time on-site position

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of successfully completing a course in Medical Terminology.
  • Experience in quality reporting programs.
  • A minimum of two years formal training and/or equivalent clerical job experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Review patient/resident record and abstract the appropriate data elements associated with identified measures.
  • Enter abstracted data into various specified data collection applications.
  • Staying current with abstraction rules, manuals and guidelines
  • Performs data collection, verification and transmission on patient/resident abstracts.
  • Supports and participates in the Performance Improvement process.
  • Assists in the professional fee coding/charge ticket completion.
  • Protects the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
  • Releases health information to persons or agencies according to regulations.
  • Performs abstracting/audits of records as required by HSS and regulations.
